Privacy Policy
ClipPod is a solo-operated service. This page lists exactly what's stored, who processes it, and how to get it deleted. Questions go to support@clippod.app.
What's stored
- Account data: name, email address, and a hashed password (if you use one).
- Your uploaded videos, their transcripts, generated clip metadata, and rendered exports — stored in object storage per the retention schedule in the Terms (§5): source videos/transcripts age out 48 hours after last activity on every plan; free-tier clips age out after 14 days of inactivity; clips are kept while you're subscribed, and for 30 days after a subscription ends.
- Your credit ledger: a record of grants, subscription payments, debits, and refunds tied to your account, kept for billing accuracy and support.
Who processes it
ClipPod runs on a small set of infrastructure providers, each handling a specific part of the pipeline:
- Cloudflare — hosts the app, the database, and your video/transcript/render files.
- Modal — runs the GPU jobs that transcribe your video and render your clips. Modal receives your video file for the duration of a job and doesn't retain it afterward.
- OpenRouter — routes the transcript text to a language model to propose and steer clip selections. OpenRouter and its model provider receive the transcript, not the video file.
- Polar — handles subscription billing as merchant of record: checkout, payment methods, receipts, and refunds. ClipPod never receives or stores your card details.
- Resend — delivers transactional email (email verification, password resets). It sees your email address and the message content, nothing else.
Cookies
ClipPod sets one session cookie to keep you signed in. There's no advertising or tracking cookie, and no analytics pixel on the marketing pages.
Deletion
Deleting a video from your library removes its file, transcript, and clips immediately, on any plan. Outside of that, videos age out on the schedule described above and in the Terms — a warning email arrives before anything on a free account is deleted. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account) removes every video, transcript, clip, render, and your credit history, along with your account record — this happens right away and can't be reversed, so download anything you want to keep first. One record does survive, and only to stop one-time signup credits being minted over and over on the same address: a one-way hash of your email (never the address itself) with three facts beside it — whether that address already received its signup credits, whether it ever had a paid plan, and the month of its last free top-up. No name, no content, no usage.
Your rights
You can access, export, or delete your data through the app at any time, or by emailing support@clippod.app if something isn't self-serve yet.
