Imports, Find more, making videos and new caption looks draw from one monthly bar; nothing is spent until you confirm, and you see what each step uses first. Your plan is one bar that refills every month; each step uses its own share of it, sized by the episode's or the video's length, and nothing happens unless you press. A one-hour episode with 10 videos made uses about 11.5% of a Starter month and 3.4% of a Creator month.

Per step, by length. Importing an episode uses a share sized by its length — a one-hour episode in English is 4.1% of a Starter month, and another language adds 3.1%, charged after transcription — and each Find more pass likewise (1.5% for an hour). Each video you make uses a share sized by the video's length: a one-minute video, finished with captions, is 0.8%. The moments you don't make cost nothing.

It's the bar in plain numbers: what's in it, divided by what a typical clip uses — a one-hour episode imported in English, shared across 10 one-minute videos. A Starter month holds ≈ 90, a Creator month ≈ 300, Free ≈ 10, and a pack ≈ 60, each to the nearest ten. Shorter episodes go further; longer ones, episodes in another language and Find more use more. The bar's % is the exact reading; the clips are an estimate.

Anything that fails on ClipPod's side gives back what it used automatically, unless your plan refills or ends while it's being made. Retrying never costs more than the first try. If an episode turns out to have no speech, or to be in a language we can't transcribe, what its import used is refunded, up to a fair-use allowance of 20% of your plan each month, plus 20% of any pack bought that cycle.

Report it and what it used comes back. On a delivered video you haven't downloaded and aren't sharing by link, "This video is unusable" takes it out of your library and gives back what making it used — you pick a reason first (framing, captions, where it starts or ends, or something else), which is how we find out what to fix. We keep a copy to work from. These give-backs share the monthly allowance above (20% of your plan, plus 20% of any pack bought that cycle); past it the report still works and still removes the clip, it just stops giving back.

Not on the plan: it refills to exactly 100% at each renewal (on Free, each calendar month), so what you didn't use that month doesn't carry over. A pack ($9) never expires and is used only when your plan can't cover a whole step. After a paid plan ends there's no free monthly refill; your pack keeps working. What's left of a paid plan's month goes when it ends; resubscribe within 30 days and your library is kept.

As many as you make — downloads cost nothing. What limits making is the bar: a Creator month holds ≈ 300 clips and a Starter month ≈ 90, counting each as a one-minute video from a one-hour episode; shorter episodes go further.

An episode's source and its transcript are deleted 48 hours after your last activity on it, and 14 days after you add it at the latest, on every plan — the videos you made stay downloadable. In the last 48 hours before that 14-day limit, steps that need the source and cost something (starting or retrying an import, Find more, refine) are refused, and nothing is charged. On the free tier, clips themselves are deleted after 14 days without activity. While you're subscribed, a clip is kept for 90 days after you last touch it; you'll get a warning a week before one goes, so there is always time to download it. If a subscription lapses, you get 30 days to resubscribe — after that your library is permanently deleted.

Nothing is made unless you ask. Every moment the import finds arrives for you to play and trim at no cost; making it uses that video's share, and you see it before you confirm. Each video takes a few minutes to make, up to five at once; keep picking while they make, and we email you when they're ready.

Changing the caption look costs nothing until you finish the video, which puts the captions into the file — and the first finish comes with the make. A new look after that uses its own share each time you finish again (a one-minute video: 0.3% of a Starter month). Turning captions off costs nothing.

Yes. A step can get cheaper at any time. If a step ever has to use more of the bar, that comes with a new version of the rate card, and a subscriber keeps the version they're on until their next renewal. The bar's % and the clip estimates are always what the app shows you before you confirm. As the AI models and compute we use get cheaper, we expect your plan to go further. When a step costs us less, it uses less of your bar.

Free-tier clips end with a short ClipPod card. On a paid plan you can switch it off in Settings.
